Course Description

Understand what is driving the continued push to replace LMW phthalate plasticizers in industrial use and why they haven't already been replaced.
Implement a well-defined approach by learning which LMW phthalate alternatives are used in particular market segments.

Paul Daniels will discuss different types of plasticizers (vegetable oil derivatives, citrate esters, benzoate/dibenzoate esters, etc.) and how to find the right alternatives that are most compatible with your PVC formulation.

Why should you view this course?

Since the advent ofREACH regulationon low-molecular weight (LMW) phthalates, there is an increasedneed to define suitable phthalate alternativesthat satisfy health and environmental concerns. With the wide range of alternatives available, it is easy to get confused when finding the right plasticizer for your PVC formulation.
Join this course to:

  1. Review commercially available alternative plasticizers for PVC (vegetable oil derivatives, citrate esters, benzoate/dibenzoate esters, etc.)

  2. Find the best-suited plasticizer chemistries for your application (flooring & wallcovering, film & sheet, cable, coated fabrics, etc.)

  3. Get advice on screening the right plasticizer when it comes to finding a replacement (key topics of concern…)

Who should join this course?
  • PVC Producers, Compounders & Additive Suppliers, as well as anyone needing support to select alternative plasticizers to meet market and regulatory demands.
