Robyn Brown has a NHD Microbiology and Dipl Cosmetic Science (Cum Laude). After working at various companies such as Procter and Gamble, Croda and Cognis, Robyn decided to start her own company in 2006 consulting to the Cosmetic Industry in South Africa on all concepts of Formulation, Stability Testing, QC and QA issues. Robyn was thereafter asked to join the CTFA (Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association of South Africa) as a member of the Technical Committee. Robyn has sat on various working groups within this area and was thereafter able to expand her Consultancy to include a Regulatory Arm whereby, her company Botanichem assists customers with all things Regulatory.

Botanichem also has a Distributorship and is proud to represent companies such as BASF BCS actives, Cobiosa, Sunjin, Zuplex and Kupanda. Being able to distribute excellent products and be trained by the best in the industry, Robyn has learned about all aspects of the cosmetic industry and this has enabled her to know what industry requires and is able to understand requirements from the marketing, R&D and Regulatory sides of the business and likes to find ways to enable all 3 departments to work together in Companies in ‘relative harmony”.
Robyn is now starting up a 3rd Company named The Personal Care Coaching and Training Company whereby she wishes to impart her knowledge to the next generation of Cosmetic Chemists in Africa. Robyn enjoys training and imparting knowledge whenever she can, as it was only through the generous sharing of knowledge from her Mentors in the Industry that she has been enabled to do what she does today. Robyn has been asked regularly to do talks and lectures for the South African Society of Cosmetic Chemists and is also a lecturer on the Cosmetic Science Diploma in South Africa.
