Why should you view this course?

Faced with stringent fuel-economy and emissions policies, OEMs are adopting the use of lighter weight materials in automotive components and parts, along with part optimization/consolidation & the use of innovative processes.

Additionally, regulations in major car markets like China, the European Union, and the United States… compel OEMs to produce more EVs with rising interests in consumers as well.

However, the challenge is to achieve vehicle innovation goals without loss of performance or aesthetics, as well as reduce cost. Moreover, material selection is affected by a number of factors like formability, assembly methods, paint technologies, corrosion protection requirements, cost per unit of weight saved…

Join this course and:

  1. Speed up your R&D decisions with an understanding of the latest EV & ICEs automotive materials innovations (Fiber reinforced plastic composites, ultra-low-density SMC advances, plastic-metal and organic hybrid technology…) and applications landscape.

  2. Better select automotive materials (plastics/composites) by understanding the analysis of how energy, design & interior challenges translate into difficulty in addressing materials.

  3. Improve profitability by learning about strategies to reduce cost such as decontenting, optimizing urban range, battery leasing, etc.

Who should join this course?
  • Plastic resin manufacturers, additive suppliers intending to understand the latest automotive materials innovations & realize how their materials fit into that landscape.

  • Compounders, OEM looking to better select resins/additives to reach the latest automotive innovation goals without losing performance, as well as reduce overall costs.

  • Brand Owners who wish to get a holistic view of major players, market drivers, current challenges & technology advances.
