Why should you view this course?

Strong growth in the heat reflective coatings market is being driven by factors such as climate change, the urban heat island effect, rising energy costs, and incentives from utility companies and government organizations. Currently, manufacturers of industrial and architectural coatings have a significant window of opportunity to capture this expanding market by quickly developing a range of cool-roof, cool-wall, and other heat reflective coatings.

Attending this course will provide formulators of traditional coatings with a head-start in this emerging field, significantly shortening their development cycle. Participants will also gain insights into new applications of heat reflectance technology, particularly in the growing sectors of autonomous and electric vehicles. These new opportunities open up additional avenues for formulators and manufacturers who are ready to invest in this innovative technology.

  1. How does solar radiation interact with coated surfaces?

  2. How can heat reflectance be maximized?

  3. What are the different strategies for formulating heat reflective coatings?

  4. Why should the use of carbon blacks be avoided in heat reflective coatings?

  5. How can I formulate darker shades without carbon black?

  6. How can I color match while still maintaining good reflectance?

  7. How can heat reflective pigments be efficiently dispersed?

    1. How is heat reflectance coatings technology relevant to autonomous vehicles?
