Dr. Rachna is an expert in cosmetic product development with over 8 years of experience as Co-founder and Advisor at Bregma Science LLP (March 2016 – Present), based in Bengaluru, India. At Bregma, she leads end-to-end development of cosmetic, personal, and home care products for startups, with a focus on complete transparency, ownership of formulations, and unbiased selection of materials. They ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable sourcing while delivering customized solutions for startups.

As Head of Skin Care R&D at 82°E (October 2021 – Present), she focuses on developing innovative personal care products. The products are designed using high powered actives and have won multiple awards since launch. In 2023, the brand was recognised as Best Cruelty Free brand by PETA, India. Previously, at The Himalaya Drug Company (February 2014 – July 2018), Rachna has worked on multiple projects in personal care including design and development of ECOCERT natural and organic certified products.

Her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Utah (December 2009 – August 2013) involved formulating microbicides and contraceptives, developing solid and semi-solid dosage forms, and conducting in vitro/in vivo evaluations using advanced models. Prior to this, they served as a Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (October 2004 – October 2009), where she developed transdermal technologies for insulin delivery and synthesized nanoparticles for cancer therapies. Rachna hold 3 patents and has authored 24 research publications.
