Course Description

Establish a successful plastics recycling system by clearly understanding the recovery & reuse model and gaining in-depth knowledge about advanced technologies (depolymerization, pyrolysis, mechanical and solvent-based recycling), materials & applications.

Leading expert, Don Rosato will help determine which plastic recycling combinations to apply w.r.t. regional waste management systems. He will also lay focus on major innovations which include:
  • Ocean-bound PET bottles as a feed stream for chemical upcycling into PBT resin.
  • Reactive Recycling for improving the performance of mixed recycled polymer streams that are difficult to recycle.
  • An athletic football shoe from a combination recycled plastic materials from thermoplastic waste derived from end-of-life sporting goods

Why should you view this course?

"The worldwide crisis of plastics-waste pollution calls for action from a wide range of stakeholders, from consumers to regulators to brand owners to plastics producers. While the desire to see action is easy to understand, but identifying the most effective approaches to current waste problems and those of the future represents a complex challenge!

Solution lies in creating a circular economy — Redesigning plastic products to be recyclable → putting in place effective systems to recover end-of-life plastics → reuse the recovered plastics by recycling them, turning them into new products that will create value. Accelerate your transition by choosing from the large number of possible approaches and tailoring them to the recycling needs of different plastics, applications, and regional waste management systems.

Without a doubt, this will save you lots of time & give you an edge over economically attractive recycling capacity! Join this course to:"

  1. Drive your R&D efforts faster and in the right direction with a clearer view on plastics recycling material advances (volume resins, upcycling additives, recyclate compounds…) and applications (packaging, consumer goods, automotive…).

  2. Understand how to go beyond traditional mechanical recycling & combine different recycling techniques that match your requirements by gaining a strong grasp on concepts of depolymerization, pyrolysis, and solvent-based recycling.

  3. Meet today's market needs & prepare better for the future by making the switch from “make, use, dispose” model to “sustainable, circular economy” model with respect to regional waste management systems.

  4. Save time with a structured overview of latest innovations in plastics recycling (restabilizing PP compound recyclate, Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC), color correcting PCR PET…).
