Polysulfides are one of the oldest elastomers used to make sealants and adhesives (almost 100 years old), and still the polysulfide market size is estimated to be valued at US$ 2.47 billion in 2023 and is expected to surpass US$ 6 billion in 2033. The fact that polysulfides can be formulated to several demanding applications like construction sealants, transportation sealants, and insulating glass adhesives makes this elastomer still commercially important.

But Polysulfides are tricky in formulations as the selection of correct raw materials, mixture ratio, and the amount of catalyst to get the reaction going still troubles formulators.
