Course Description

Get tangible data and directions from rheology by knowing how to translate pourability, sag resistance… into rheology targets (complex modulus, yield stress, shear rate...).

Joshua Marsh will provide a clarity around the core fundamentals without the complexity of equations, that enables efficient management of the rheological profile of your product.

Support your developments by selecting the right rheology test in practice.

Joshua Marsh has worked at the Centre for Industrial Rheology for more than nine years, beginning in a technical analyst role where he developed hands-on experience of the technical challenges and nuances of practical rheological analysis. In 2018 Josh took up the role of Technical Manager at the centre, overseeing all the analyses undertaken there and running the training services they provide. The focus of these services is rheology, providing testing and support globally to businesses in all sectors to aid in the production of highly reliable physical characterisations.
Throughout his time at the centre, Josh has worked with a wide variety of rheometers and viscometers, using these to perform analysis on materials from a huge array of fields.

Why should you view this course?

Rheology is often viewed as something of a ‘black art’ whereas, if understood well, it can provide tangible data to achieve desired performance. Clarity around the core fundamentals enables efficient management of the rheological properties of your product. Join this online rheology training and:

  1. Easily Link desired performance (pourability, sag resistance...) to the corresponding rheology properties.

  2. Confidently interpret result by bringing G*, G', G'', tan delta values out of abstract shadow with simple, real-life phenomena association.

  3. Ease your viscosity adjustments by clarifying the impact of imposed shear, shear history and temperature on your formulation.

Who should join this course?
  • Formulators, QC managers & technicians, and Process developers with a need to get more familiar with rheology basics and principles.

  • Complete the course and (unlock your personalized certificate)– your badge of accomplishment awaits!
