David Horwat is a highly experienced - nearly 40 years - Adhesives Technologist.
After getting his BS and Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, David Horwart was employed at Henkel, Air Products and Wacker Polymers for which he successfully carried out numerous projects including on :

  • Water borne packaging adhesives and wood working adhesives;
  • Water borne equivalents to solvent borne contact cements ;
  • High solids water borne VAE/ isocyanate adhesive system …

He recently developed his own structure property relationships and a mathematical model of waterborne adhesive formulations. He is proficient in experimental design and has a strong fundamental understanding of formulation variables.

David Horwat authored the Air Products “Adhesives Manual” and owns numerous patents directly related to the adhesives industry.

Why should you view this course?

Waterborne adhesive formulators face increasing pressure to tailor their products faster and at lower cost to meet customers' highly specific end-use requirements. Achieving these productivity gains requires not only reviewing your development process but also maximizing the potential of your lab materials. Join this course, and you will:

  1. Speed up your waterborne adhesive development by smarter utilization of physical variables (like glass transition temperature, Tg, etc.) to optimize formulation.

  2. Learn how to leverage your own simple laboratory materials to predict key adhesive properties like tack level, high shear potential, and more.

  3. Get personalized advice on your technical challenges by interacting live with a seasoned formulator with nearly 40 years of experience in the field.

Who should join this course?
  • Intermediate to skilled WB adhesive formulators looking to refine their expertise and accelerate the development of high-performance waterborne adhesive products.
